Creatures in the game have different tiers of rarity.

Some creatures are much rarer than others and this can determine the level they can be created at and the DNA it costs to create and evolve them. It also makes a difference to the amount of DNA obtained when shooting darts during an Encounter or how easy it will be to find this DNA in an Incubator. (This is separate from the DNA increases or Incubator level increases that change with the player's level)

Note that even within each tier, some creatures are rarer than others or may be hybrid creatures that are created by fusing two other creatures together.

The tiers of rarity are as follows:

Common[]

Common creatures are (as the name suggests) the most common among all wild spawns.

DNA and Creation[]

  • They will be created at level 1 when enough DNA is collected.
  • Generally, Common creatures cost 50 DNA to create.
  • This DNA can be obtained in the wild via Encounters or via Incubators.

Hybrids[]

  • No known hybrids can be Common.

Visuals[]

  • In your Collection screen and Battle screen, you will see a grey outline on these creatures (not to be confused with completely greyed-out creatures which have not been created yet).
  • On the Map, these creatures will not have any special visual changes.

Rare[]

Rare creatures are rarer than Common creatures but are certainly not the rarest in the game.

DNA and Creation[]

  • They will be created at level 6 when enough DNA is collected.
  • Generally, Rare creatures cost 100 DNA to create.
  • This DNA can be obtained in the wild via Encounters or via Incubators.

Hybrids[]

  • Some of these creatures can be hybrids.
  • They are generally created by fusing two specific Common Creatures at level 5 (or higher) in order to produce a level 6 hybrid.

Visuals[]

  • In your Collection screen and Battle screen, you will see a blue outline on these creatures.
  • On the Map, these creatures will have a blue glow around them to indicate that they are Rare. This can be further confirmed by the text seen when clicking the creature on the map.

Epic[]

Epic creatures are rarer than Common or Rare creatures. Although they are not the rarest creatures available, they are known to be the rarest creatures that will spawn in the wild (excluding events).

DNA and Creation[]

  • Generally, these creatures cost 150 DNA to create.
  • This DNA can be obtained in the wild via Encounters or via Incubators.
  • They will be created at level 11 when enough DNA is collected.

Hybrids[]

  • Some of these creatures can be hybrids.
  • They are generally created by fusing two specific Creatures of Common or Rare rarity at level 10 (or higher) in order to produce a level 11 hybrid.

Visuals[]

  • In your Collection screen and Battle screen, you will see a yellow/orange outline on these creatures.
  • On the Map, these creatures will have a yellow/orange glow around them to indicate that they are Epic. This can be further confirmed by the text seen when clicking the creature on the map.

Legendary[]

Legendary creatures are (as the name suggests) some of the strongest and rarest creatures around, however, there are still rarer creatures than these.

DNA and Creation[]

  • Generally, these creatures cost 200 DNA to create.
  • This DNA is known to be exclusively obtained via hybrid fusions, but can be available during events when Legendary creatures are featured spawns. Specific incubators may also include Legendary creature DNA when available during events or Market specials.
  • They will be created at level 16 when enough DNA is collected.

Hybrids[]

  • They are generally created by fusing two specific Creatures of Epic or lower rarity at level 15 (or higher) in order to produce a level 16 hybrid.

Visuals[]

  • In your Collection screen and Battle screen, you will see a red outline on these creatures.
  • On the Map, these creatures would have a red glow around them to indicate that they are Legendary. This can be further confirmed by the text seen when clicking the creature on the map.
  • With the exception of Parasaurolophus Lux, Legendary creatures have so far only spawned on the map during events and are not normally available in the wild.

Unique[]

Unique creatures are the second rarest known creatures.

DNA and Creation[]

  • Generally, these creatures cost 250 DNA to create.
  • This DNA is known to be exclusively obtained via hybrid fusions, but can be available during events when Unique creatures are featured spawns. Specific incubators may also include Unique creature DNA when available during events or Market specials.
  • They will be created at level 21 when enough DNA is collected.

Hybrids[]

  • All known Unique creatures are superhybrids, barring Compsocaulus.
  • They are generally created by fusing two Creatures of Legendary or lower rarity at level 20 (or higher) in order to produce a level 21 hybrid. Exceptions, like Grypolyth or Compsocaulus, can be made.

Visuals[]

  • In your Collection screen and Battle screen, you will see a green outline on these creatures.
  • On the Map, these creatures will have a green glow around them to indicate that they are Unique. This can be further confirmed by the text seen when clicking the creature on the map.
  • Unique creatures have so far only spawned on the map during events and are not normally available in the wild.

Apex[]

Apex creatures are the rarest known creatures in the game and the hardest to acquire.

DNA and Creation[]

Hybrids[]

Visuals[]

  • In your Collection screen and Battle screen, you will see a black and gold outline on these creatures.
  • On the Map, these creatures will have a black and gold glow around them to indicate that they are Apex. This can be further confirmed by the text seen when DNA is acquired for these creatures.
  • All of the Apex creatures have never appeared in the wild and only spawn on the map as raid bosses.

Omega[]
